Overview

The following pages will give a general overview over the historical development of the International Federation of Automatic Control, it will describe the aims of the Federation and present a message from the IFAC President, outlining the aims pursued during his Presidency.

Document History
In September 1956, the German VDI/VDE-Fachgruppe Regelungstechnik organized an International Conference on Automatic Control at Heidelberg.

At the Congress banquet of the IFAC World Congress in Seoul, Korea, Professor Rolf Isermann, Council Member and Advisor of IFAC gave a speech, in which he presented an overview over the history of IFAC. Have a look at the slides which he used for this very informative and entertaining presentation.
