The preamble of the IFAC Constitution states "We have the Vision for IFAC to be the worldwide federation for promoting automatic control for the benefit of humankind and consequently we derivate the Mission for IFAC to promote the science and technology of automatic control through technical meetings, publications and other means consistent with the goals and values of IFAC".
Human rights, freedom, and peace are the very basis of science and technology, and any actions against such values must be condemned. I am very much concerned that global peace is threatened. I respect the cooperation and solidarity of scientists and engineers to preserve the values of IFAC.
