Textbook Award

Harold Chestnut Control Engineering Textbook Prize

This award is presented at each Triennial Congress for the best Control Engineering textbook for which the first edition(s) occurred not later than the Congress just prior to the one at which the award is presented. It recognizes the author(s) of the textbook(s) judged to have most contributed to the education of control engineers. The candidates for the prize are nominated by a selection committee, while the books under consideration come before the committee through recommendation of the control engineering community. The prize consists of a monetary prize and a certificate. This prize was created in 1986 and renamed in 2002. The prize is named after Harold Chestnut, IFAC’s first president.
